How to Transfer Messages from/to iPhone with iTunes

If Backuptrans software can not detect your iPhone directly, you can follow this tutorial to transfer messages from or to your iPhone with iTunes' help.

Transfer Messages from iPhone to Computer

Step 1: Backup your iPhone with iTunes on computer
Connect your iPhone to the computer, launch iTunes, and then right click on the iPhone and select "Backup" menu.
Note: Please make sure that you have turned off the "iCloud Backup"on iPhone and iTunes before backing up in iTunes.

Step 2: Disconnect iPhone from computer>

Step 3: Import Messages from iTunes Backup
Run Backuptrans software, click "File" -> "Import from iTunes Backup" menu. Or you can right click the Local Database list icon and then choose "Import from iTunes Backup" menu.

Step 4: Manage Messages on Backuptrans software
After you have imported messages from iTunes backup into Backuptrans local database on computer, you can manage the messages on Backuptrans software easily, such as exporting messages to file and printing messages.

Transfer Messages from Computer to iPhone

Step 1: Backup your iPhone with iTunes
Connect your iPhone to the computer, launch iTunes, and then right click on the iPhone and select "Backup" menu. This step is important. You must make a backup with your iPhone in iTunes first before transferring messages to your iPhone.
Note: Please make sure that you have turned off the "iCloud Backup"on iPhone and iTunes before backing up in iTunes.

Step 2: Disconnect iPhone from computer

Step 3: Export Messages to iTunes Backup from Backuptrans
Run Backuptrans software, right click the local database under Local Database list and then choose "Export Messages to iTunes Backup". Then the messages in Backuptrans will be exported and merged into the iTunes backup files you have just created in step 1.

Step 4: Exit Backuptrans software

Step 5: Restore your iPhone with iTunes
Connect your iPhone to the computer and launch iTunes again, and then right click on the iPhone and select "Restore from Backup" menu.

Transfer Android Messages to iPhone

Step 1:Backup Messages from Android to Backuptrans database(Skip if done)
Run Backuptrans software, click the Android in Devices list and then turn to top toolbar and press "Backup Messages" button or go "File" -> "Backup Messages" menu. All the messages on your Android will be saved to a local database.

Step 2: Exit Backuptrans software

Step 3: Backup your iPhone with iTunes
Connect your iPhone to the computer, launch iTunes, and then right click on the iPhone and select "Backup" menu. This step is important. You must make a backup with your iPhone in iTunes first before transferring messages to your iPhone.
Note: Please make sure that you have turned off the "iCloud Backup"on iPhone and iTunes before backing up in iTunes.

Step 4: Disconnect iPhone from computer

Step 5: Export Messages to iTunes Backup from Backuptrans
Run Backuptrans software again on computer, right click the database you have just backed up from Android under Local Database list and then choose "Export Messages to iTunes Backup" menu. Then the messages in Backuptrans will be exported and merged into the iTunes backup files you have just created in step 3.

Step 6: Exit Backuptrans software

Step 7: Restore your iPhone with iTunes
Connect your iPhone to the computer and launch iTunes again, and then right click on the iPhone and select "Restore from Backup" menu.

Transfer iPhone Messages to Android

Step 1: Backup your iPhone with iTunes
Connect your iPhone to the computer, launch iTunes, and then right click on the iPhone and select "Backup" menu.

Step 2: Disconnect iPhone from computer

Run Backuptrans software, click "File" -> "Import from iTunes Backup" menu. Or you can right click the Local Database list icon and then choose "Import from iTunes Backup" menu.

Step 4: Connect your Android Phone

Step 5: Transfer Messages from Backuptrans to Android
Right click the database you have just imported from iTunes under Local Database list and then choose "Transfer Messages from Database to Android".
